One of the few Greek genre films to gain a substantial international release, this love-triangle thriller from director Errikos Andreou benefited commercially from having been shot in English and toplining the beautiful Barbara Bouchet, who -- although her popularity in America faded after the 1960s -- was well-known throughout Europe at the time for her roles in Italian thrillers like La Tarantola dal Ventre Nero, and a particularly controversial turn in Non Se Sevizia un Paperino. Bouchet plays Ero, an ex-model married to the wealthy Kostas (Gunter Stoll), but having an affair with a family friend named Nikos (Bob Behling). Ero and Nikos plan to murder Kostas on a stormy night during the annual sailing regatta, but it is Nikos who succumbs. Or so it appears, as Kostas actually has a side agreement with Nikos to get revenge on Ero. The whole twisted affair comes to a murderous head on a tiny islet, with the expected melodrama amply provided by screenwriter Klearchos Konitsiotis, who adapted his own novel. Sofia Roumbou co-stars with Yiorgos Kyritsis and Dinos Karydis. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
