Sharing lead vocal duties with Hassani Bitchuka, one of Africa's most popular singer/songwriters, Cosmo Tobias has helped make the Mlimani Park Orchestra one of Tanzania's top bands. Known for his energetic and emotional vocal delivery, Tobias, was a founding member of the group in 1978. Although they initially served as house band for the Mlimani Club in the Dar Es Salaam suburb of Mwenge, Tobias and the Mlimani Park Orchestra came under the sponsorship of the Dar Es Salaam Development Corporation (DDC) when the club went bankrupt in 1983. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
