Tony Whitford
Anthony Wilfred James (Tony) Whitford (Born June 11, 1941, in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada) is the current Commissioner of the Northwest Territories. He has been Commissioner since April 29, 2005.
Whitford attended the University of Calgary and earned a Bachelor of Social Work in 1977. He was the Member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly for Kam Lake and the speaker of the assembly. His win in 1999 topped 80% of the vote. In October 2004 he became deputy commissioner of the Northwest Territories.
