Adopting a new identity, Melford heads for the gaming tables of Monte Carlo, certain that he will not be prevented by his bad reputation from making a fortune. Enter Melford's wife Iris Baker, who is posing as a countess. Using the threat of exposure, Baker convinces Melford to turn honest. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
