Toritseju Okorodudu, more commonly known as Toju, performs as the Militant Black Guy on the UK Comedy TV series, Balls of Steel. In this role, he discomforts people by accusing them of racism at every opportunity. Usually his victims are members of the public at work, and the accusation consists of deliberately mistaking the name of something (after enticing the victim to say it) for a racial slur.
Examples have included:
- Various phrases containing the word "black", including "Black Forest gateau", the "Black Country", "black pudding", "New Zealand All Blacks" and "black hole"
- "Cocoon" and "raccoon", both of which contain the slur "coon"
- The fact that white moves first in chess, as implying that black people are inferior
- "Please keep off the grass", "Coke" and other expressions taken as references to drugs and thereby implying that his race labels him as a drug-taker
The segment is usually opened with a video of Toju in character, to the music of either Fight the Power by Public Enemy or Express Yourself by N.W.A. (a cover).
