Torment and Toreros

Album Review: Torment & Toreros

Review

On the double-album Torment and Toreros, Marc Almond delved deeply into the cabaret form he loved so dearly. Supported by either pianos or orchestras, Almond sings a set of songs that supposedly shatter taboos but too often sound forced. Despite the problems in the material, there are some interesting moments on the record that make it worthwhile for dedicated fans. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
