Review

Contemporary country's spinoff of the Totally Hits series, Totally Country gathers 17 of the style's recent hits, including the Dixie Chicks' "Without You," Brooks & Dunn's "Only in America," Billy Gilman's "One Voice," and Travis Tritt's "It's a Great Day to Be Alive." Other standouts include Montgomery Gentry's "She Couldn't Change Me" and Dwight Yoakam's cover of the Cheap Trick classic "I Want You to Want Me." Though it's probably not of much use to die-hard fans of contemporary country (unless they want to use it as a ready-made mix for their car stereos), Totally Country is an appealing collection of crossover singles that will please most people looking for "that song they heard on the radio." ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
