German Literature Companion: Totenkopfhusaren
 

Totenkopfhusaren, nickname for three regiments of hussars of the former German army. They were the Prussian Leib-Husaren-Regimenter Nr. 1 u. 2, both garrisoned at Danzig-Langfuhr and the Brunswick hussars (No. 17). All wore black uniforms with a skull badge on the front of the busby.
