Game Description
The Official Video Game of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, Track & Field lets you or you and a friend compete in six classic Olympic events: 100-Meter Dash, Long Jump, Javelin, 110-Meter Hurdles, Hammer Throw and High Jump.To run in Track & Field, you must jiggle the joystick left and right as fast as you can. Or, you can alternate pushing the two buttons on the special controller that comes packaged with the game. This dual button-pushing technique is designed to help you recreate the experience found in the original Konami coin-op version of the game. Pressing the joystick button or the action button on the special controller enables you to jump or set an angle; releasing either button lets you jump or throw the javelin or hammer.
Three difficulty levels are available: Novice, Arcade and Expert. In order to proceed to the next event, you must earn a qualifying score by beating the qualifying time or distance for that event.
