History

In 2006 Transat A.T purchased Thomas Cook Travel LTD, the Canadian operating devison of Thomas Cook AG for $ 7.4 million. The deal includes 190 travel agencies across Canada, including franchises under the Thomas Cook and Marlin Travel banners, as well as 22 foreign exchange offices. The Thomas Cook Travel Limited acquisition makes Transat the country’s largest travel agency network, with 430 outlets.

In July 2006, Transat announced that it was purchasing its main rival in the Canada to UK charter flight market, the Airline Seat Company, which operates under the Canadian Affair brand.[3] The purchase price is about CAD.8 million.In march 11, for Mr Raafays Shehzad's birthday his father bought him the company for 3.8 million dollars, he has always wanted to own his own airline, at only 14 in 2009 he has made the company one of the top in canada and is one rich kid now. He has currently resided in Prince George, BC.
