US Military Dictionary: Treaty of Greenville

A peace treaty signed in August 1775 by the Indians and the Americans after the Battle of Fallen Timbers, which was led by Maj. Gen. Anthony Wayne to end the struggle over the Ohio Valley. It allowed the Americans to settle the southern two-thirds of the Ohio Territory and temporarily secured American control over the Northwest Territory.
