What is nystatin; triamcinolone skin cream or ointment?
NYSTATIN; TRIAMCINOLONE (Mycolog® II, Mytrex®, Myco-Triacet® II, Tri-Statin® II) is a antifungal and corticosteroid cream or ointment. The combination treats Candida (yeast) infections of the skin and helps to reduce the swelling, redness, and itching that may occur with these infections. Generic nystatin; triamcinolone skin cream and ointment are available.What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:How should I use this medicine?
Nystatin; triamcinolone skin cream or ointment is for external use only; do not take by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label exactly. Wash your hands before and after use. If treating hand or nail infections, wash hands before use only. Apply a thin layer of cream or ointment to the affected area and rub in gently. When applying to the groin area, apply a limited amount and do not use for longer than 2 weeks unless directed to by your prescriber. Do not cover or wrap the treated area with an airtight bandage (such as a plastic bandage). Apply the cream or ointment for the full course of treatment prescribed, even if you think the infection is getting better. Use at regular intervals. Do not use your medicine more often than directed. Do not use this medicine for any condition other than the one for which it was prescribed.What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or take extra doses without advice.What drug(s) may interact with nystatin; triamcinolone skin cream or ointment?

Tell your prescriber or health care professional if your symptoms do not improve within 1 week when treating the groin area or within 2 weeks when treating the feet. It is important not to use more nystatin; triamcinolone cream or ointment than prescribed. When applying this product to the groin area, do not use for more than 2 weeks. Do not use on healthy skin or over large areas of skin.What side effects may I notice from using nystatin; triamcinolone skin cream or ointment?

Triamcinolone (trade names Kenalog, Aristocort, Nasacort, Tri-Nasal, Triderm, Azmacort, Trilone, Volon A, Tristoject, Fougera, Tricortone,Triesence;) is a synthetic corticosteroid given orally, by injection, inhalation, or as a topical ointment or cream.

Triamcinolone is used in the post-operative period of certain cosmetic surgery procedures, notably rhinoplasty. Injected into the subcutaneous area, it may help to alleviate stubborn swelling, inflamed sebaceous cysts, and scar tissue.
Triamcinolone is occasionally used to treat severe cases of hayfever.[1] Cream forms are used to treat keratosis pilaris, psoriasis, oral irritation after dental procedures. It is highly effective in the most severe cases of eczema, but may require a waiting period before subsequent treatments.Triamcinolone also used in case of severe arthritis, Lumbago sciatica. Injection is given to intra articular space of knee joing and also at the tip of the coccyx etc.[citation needed] The drug may also be used to treat diabetic retinopathy.[2]
Different triamcinolone salts are available, including acetonide, benetonide, furetonide, hexacetonide and diacetate.
Triamcinolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone.
Side effects of Triamcinolone include a sore throat, nosebleeds, increased coughing, headache, and runny nose. White patches in the throat or nose indicates a serious side effect. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itch, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.[3]
An additional side effect for women is a prolonged menstrual cycle.
