True-Born Irishman, The, or the Irish Fine Lady (1762), an Irish comedy by Charles Macklin. First played at Smock Alley, it concerns the affectations of the wife of Murrough O'Dogherty, an MP in the Irish Parliament. However, she is cured of ‘the London vertigo’. It was adapted by Brian Friel as The London Vertigo (1991).
