Geography

Truesdale is located at 42°43′43″N 95°10′59″W / 42.72861°N 95.18306°W / 42.72861; -95.18306 (42.728665, -95.183036)^[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.14 square miles (0.37 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census^[2] of 2010, there were 81 people, 37 households, and 24 families residing in the town. The population density was 570.4 people per square mile (220.2/km²). There were 40 housing units at an average density of 281.7 per square mile (108.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.8% White and 1.2% African American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.

There were 37 households out of which 24.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.6% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 35.1% were non-families. 29.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.71.

In the city the population was spread out with 18.5% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 19.7% from 25 to 44, 42% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47.8 years. The gender makeup of the city was 56.8% male and 43.2% female.

The median income for a household in the city was $29,063, and the median income for a family was $35,625. Males had a median income of $28,750 versus $17,188 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,410. There were no families and 4.0% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 15.4% of those over 64.
