As you would expect, Sonny Boy Williamson II's Trumpet sides were rough, raspy and combative, punctuated by biting harmonica and accented by his piercing vocals. This CD cleans up the sound a bit, but not enough to rob it of its energy or grit. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
