Tuba Bach

Tuba Bach is an annual chamber music concert series held in Big Rapids, Michigan. Founded by internationally renowned tuba-euphonium artist and composer and Big Rapids native and resident Dr. Edward K. Mallett, Tuba Bach’s goal is to provide the Big Rapids area community the opportunity to attend and experience world class performances of chamber music in their own town, free of charge. Tuba Bach also has the goal of providing educational presentations by bringing guest performers directly to students through a variety of programs in elementary, middle and high schools throughout the area.

Funding for the program is provided through charitable gifts and grants. No admission is charged to attend a concert, however donations can be voluntarily made at each concert event.

History

Tuba Bach was founded in 1996. Tuba Bach is presented in conjunction with Artworks: Big Rapids Area Arts and Humanities, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization.
