Tuusniemi is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Northern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of 2,858 (30 June 2009)[2] and covers an area of 699.54 square kilometres (270.09 sq mi) of which 156.18 km2 (60.30 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 5.26 inhabitants per square kilometre (13.6 /sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
