and pianist Marshall Vente make for a perfect match on this fairly introspective duo set. The pair interpret a wide variety of material (including "Still Crazy After All These Years," "Swinging On a Star," an excellent rendition of "As Time Goes By," "Light My Fire," "Morning of the Carnival" and "My Ship"), and the communication between the two is consistently impressive. One song flows easily to another, and although some more tempo variation might have been beneficial, the beauty of Pallatto's voice and the sensitivity of Vente's piano style shine through. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
