U.S. Home Systems (USHS) is all about being on top. The home improvement manufacturer designs, sells, and installs kitchen countertops and wood and composite outdoor decks. It also makes bathroom cabinets and laminate and solid-surface tops made from Corian, Silestone, and granite. Its kitchen and bath refacing products account for more than 80% of revenues and are sold under an exclusive agreement with The Home Depot in about 2,000 stores. USHS plans to discontinue selling its deck products through The Home Depot and instead will market them directly from its Virginia facility under its own brand Designer Deck. The company also sold its consumer finance business to FCC-Finance.
