Sometimes Uathach of the Glen. Daughter of Scáthach and sometime lover of Cúchulainn. Initially, Uathach welcomes Cúchulainn when he comes to Scáthach for training. Scáthach later promises her to him without requiring the bride-price. Forgetful of his strength, Cúchulainn accidentally breaks her finger while she is serving him. Her scream brings her lover, whom Cúchulainn makes short work of; to make amends Cúchulainn takes his place, including becoming Uathach's lover.

In Irish mythology, Uathach was Scáthach's daughter. According to a legend, Cuchulainn, who had recently arrived at Scáthach's fortress-home to be her pupil, had a quarrel with Cochar Crufe, Uathach's lover, because Cuchulainn accidentally broke one of Uathach's fingers. Having been challenged to single combat by Cochar Crufe, Cuchulainn killed him during the fight. Eventually, Uathach became Cuchulainn's lover.
In Scottish mythology, Uathach had spurned the advances of Cochar Croibhe, the same character as Cochar Crufe. When she first saw Cúchullain, she instantly fell in love with him, and he with her. He was so taken by her beauty, that he forgot his strength and broke her hand. Seeing this, Cochar Croibhe challenged Cúchullain to the death, despite Uathach's protests. When Cúchullain won the duel, he became Uathach's lover.
