Oudomxay or Oudômxai (Lao: ອຸດົມໄຊ) is a province of Laos, located in the northwest of the country.

History

The province was created in 1976, when it was split off from Louangphabang. Around 1987 the capital of the province was moved from Ban Nahin to Muang Xay.

In 1992, the districts Paktha and Pha Oudom were reassigned to Bokeo province.[1]

Administrative divisions

The province is made up of the following districts:

  1. Beng District (4-05)
  2. Houn District (4-06)
  3. La District (4-02)
  4. Namo District (4-03)
  5. Nga District(4-04)
  6. Pakbeng District (4-07)
  7. Xai District (4-01)
