Ullah is commonly the last part of some Islamic names and titles. It can be translated as "of Allah", "of God". It is the form assumed by "Allah" when in a genitive construction: for example, in classical Arabic when the case ending vowels were still pronounced, "servant of God" would be "`abdu -llāhi", where the initial "a" of "Allah" has dropped by the hamzat al wasl rule,[1] thus modern "Abdullah".
