Ullstein-Verlag was founded in 1877 and is one of the largest publishing companies of Germany. It published newspapers (including the Berliner Morgenpost) and books through its subsidiaries Ullstein and Propyläen.

The publishing house was taken over by Axel Springer AG in 1956.
