Umaglesi Liga
The Georgian Premier League is the top division of football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. The league consists of sixteen teams.
Premier League 2007/08
For the 2007/08 season FC Torpedo Kutaisi and FC Chikhura Sachkhere apparently withdrew or were excluded and relegated to First Division. Their places were taken by Dila Gori (relegated 2006/07) and Spartaki Tskhinvali (apparently newly formed as successors of FC Tskhinvali, who withdrew prior to the 2006/07 season)
