Review
Ismael Miranda's final album for Fania Records marks the end of a nearly two-decade relationship with the top mainstream salsa label (he would continue to perform with the Fania All-Stars, and the label would release his romantic Enamorado de Ti in 1993). In 1985, romantic salsa would receive a great kick; however, this would not faze Miranda, as he would continue with his winning formula and another handsome production. This album features "Salió de la Galera 3" (C. Curet Alonso's follow-up to his own "Galera Tres"), as well as "Parece Muy Fácil" and "No le Cambien la Estrella" (also both by Curet Alonso). Interesting note: Trumpet player Jan Duclerc (years later, Elvis Crespo's musical director), future El Gran Combo bass player Wilfredo "Freddy" Rivera, and future salsa sensation Alex d'Castro (on backup vocals) participate in this outing. ~ José A.
