US Military Dictionary: United Nations Command

UNC

A command in Korea that was established on July 7, 1950, and is commanded by a U.S. Army four-star general (CINCUNC) from headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. CINCUNC serves concurrently as Commander, U.S. Forces Korea (USFK); Commander in Chief, ROK/U.S. Combined Forces Command (CINCCFC); and Commanding General, Eighth U.S. Army. CINCUNC is responsible for carrying out the terms and conditions of the July 27, 1953, Armistice agreement in Korea.
