The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) is the national organization for amateur soccer in the United States. It represents the fifth and lowest tier in the American Soccer Pyramid, underneath the USL's Premier Development League. The USASA purports to have over 250,000 adult members playing within its leagues and teams, making it the country's largest division of organized soccer at the adult levels.

Competitions

Nationally, the USASA runs the following competitions for its affiliated teams:

  • National Cup Finals - a 32-team tournament, also open to USSF-affiliated youth teams.
  • Coed Cup - a competition for coed teams. Each USASA region sends one representative team for entry into the Open division and another for entry into the Over 30 division.
  • Veteran's Cup - men's and women's competitions for various senior teams.
  • George F. Donnelly Cup - four-team tournaments (men's and women's) composed of the regional winners among state select teams.

The USASA also enters eight teams (two per region) into the annual US Open Cup.

Trivia

  • The USASA enjoyed its greatest success when Dallas Roma (Texas, Region III) defeated Chivas USA by penalty kick shootout in the third round of the 2006 US Open Cup. The amateur team became the first USASA team to defeat a Major League Soccer side. They would later lose to the Los Angeles Galaxy in the fourth round.
