The company operates the Universal Studios Hollywood movie-themed amusement park and resort. It also operates Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. The parks feature attractions based on movies from its sister studio such as Transformers, "Back to the Future, Jaws," and "Jurassic Park". Universal Parks and Resorts is the theme park division of NBC Universal, a subsidiary of General Electric. The division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the various Universal Studios resort properties around the world. The division is headquartered in Orlando, Florida, United States.

In 2006, approximately 25.8 million guests visited the Universal Studios theme parks, making it the third-largest amusement park operator in the world.[2]
