Universal South Records is a record label that was started in 2001 by Universal Music Group, and operates as a brand of Universal Records. It was founded by record producers Tony Brown and Tim DuBois.[1] The label specializes in country music artists. In 2005, Universal South Records partnered with the talent show Nashville Star, offering a recording contract to Season 3 winner Erika Jo.[2]
