The Aalborg University (Danish: Aalborg Universitet) is a university in Aalborg, Denmark. It was Denmark's fifth university, when it was opened in 1974.
In 1995 Aalborg Universitet merged with Ingeniørhøjskolen Esbjerg (Esbjerg School of Enginering), now known as Aalborg Universitet Esbjerg.
Finn Kjærsdam is the current rector.
