TV Series:

Unsung Stories

  • Release Year: 2006
  • Run Time: 30 minutes

Plot

A typically life-affirming, pro-American effort from the Country Music Television cable service, Unsung Stories featured a stellar array of top country performers and composers telling stories in song about contemporary American heroes. The emphasis here was on "reunions, rescues, and relationships," as well as overcoming great obstacles in life and extending the hand of help and friendship to one's neighbors. Each of the series' episodes covered a different real-life hero or heroine, whose life inspired an original song that was then composed before the cameras by the artists at hand; thus, the viewer saw not only the inspiration, but also experienced the creative process. Such singers and songwriters as Keith Anderson, Travis Howard, Jeffrey Stone, Brett James, Bill Luther, Jeffrey Steele, Josh Gracin, and Jamie Nichols were featured in episodes bearing such titles as "Football," "Tattoo Convoy," "Sin and Redemption," "Adoption," "Army," and "Habitat for Humanity." Unsung Stories first aired on May 19, 2006. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
