Review
This Memphis alternative rock band, formerly known as the Bamboozlers, infuses an authentic twang into their classic rock lite and ends up with a debut album just shy of radio-friendly hugeness. Singer Justin Moore croons like a happy-go-lucky Aaron Lewis (Staind), while terminally upbeat power chords roll off the hands of Phil Bogard. Forgettable acoustic numbers like "Will I Ever Make It Home" develop into guitar-wall bombasts with the help of producer Emerson Hart of Tonic. On "The Day Your Luck Runs Out," Moore channels a cleaned-up Black Crowes while the guitars continue their pop chime -- an unfortunate inability to really sink into the styles Ingram Hill is trying so desperately to adopt. ~ Daphne Carr, Rovi| Until Now (1997 Album by The Barra MacNeils) | |
