This British sitcom starred Jim Davidson as perenially unemployed East Ender named Jim London. Things picked up for Jim when he inherited a huge Victorian mansion in South London's fashionable Elephant and Castle district. The hero was forced to rely upon his cockney resillience when, upon taking up residence in his new domicile, he had to contend with a stubborn squatter and a steady stream of eccentric neighbors. Lasting three seasons and 23 episodes, Up the Elephant and Round the Castle aired courtesy of ITV/Thames Television from November 30, 1983, to November 7, 1985. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
