Upplands Väsby is a town in Uppland, Sweden and the seat of Upplands Väsby Municipality, Stockholm County.
When the Stockholm-Uppsala railway was opened in the 1860's a railway station was built near the mansion Väsby. Some industries were attracted to the spot and a settlement grew up.
The name of the town became Upplands Väsby; that name was taken from the post office who got the name in 1919 in order to distinguish it from other places named Väsby around the country. The railway station, however, was called just Väsby until 1939.
After the municipal reform of 1952 it became the seat of a municipality which got its name.
With its nearly 38,000 inhabitants it is now the 26th largest locality (tätort) in Sweden and has a favourable location between Stockholm and Arlanda Airport.
