Upsdell red is a deep medium red, similar to Fire engine red, created for Reverend G Upsdell[1], the first headmaster for the new site of King George V School in Hong Kong after World War II.
Developed in 1963[2], this colour is used primarily on websites of the Upsdell House, and is now used in the ordinaries and coat of arms.
This is also the colour of several species of bauhinia in Southeast Asia[3].
