| Wikipedia: Utility room |
A utility room is a room in a house, which is the descendant of the scullery. The utility room typically contains washing machine, tumble dryer, and other appliances which, in houses without such a room, would be in the kitchen or laundry. A utility room can also contain a second coat closet[1]. Utility room is a British English term. The equivalent in North American and Australian English is a laundry room.
