During WWII, neutral Argentina was notorious for providing a "safe harbor" for Hitler's minions. The Argentine film industry, on the other hand, seemed to be firmly on the side of the Democracies. The 73-minute documentary V Enfrenta Blitzkrieg (The V Faces the Blitzkrieg) predicts that the Nazi juggernaut will eventually be crushed by the forces of Good -- but only with the help of the United States. Producers Julio Joly and Arturo S. Mom utilize a plenitude of clips from American newsreels, British propaganda shorts and even Leni Riefenstahl's pro-German Olympiad to illustrate their thesis. Critics in 1941 suggested that V Enfrenta Blitzkrieg was designed as Latin America's collective "answer" to such Nazi documentaries as Blitzkrieg and Sieg im Western. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
