Cars are what's important at V.I.P. Inc., which operates VIP Discount Auto Centers. The chain sells auto parts and accessories and provides automotive service at about 50 stores in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Services include alignment, brake repair, fuel-system cleaning, preventative maintenance, and oil changes. VIP outlets also sell more than 15 brands of tires, such as Bridgestone and Michelin. Tires can be checked for safety and changed in about 15 minutes in VIP's Speed Lane, a system that is exclusive in New England to VIP. In business for more than 45 years, VIP merged with Quirk Tire in September 2001.
