Biography
Czech filmmaker Vaclav Gajer entered the film industry in 1943 as a messenger and telephone operator and later moved up to assistant director under such filmmakers as Martin Fric and Jiri Weiss. Gajer made his directorial debut with Krizova Trojka/The Three of Clubs (1948) and went on to specialize in children's films. In addition to directing, Gajer occasionally collaborated on the screenplays of his films.
