Vaitiare Hirshon-Asars (born Vaitiare Eugenia Hirshon on August 15, 1964 in Tahiti, French Polynesia and previously known as Vaitiare Bandera) is an actress based in the United States.

Biography

Career

Vaitiare was the Hispanic spokesperson for Miller Beer from 1993 through to 1995. She has also done ads for J.C. Penney, Toyota, Coors Dry, Caroche-Spain and Honda-Tahiti. She starred in the Spanish-language novella Agujetas de Color de Rosa, which is seen in 45 countries. She also made guest appearances in Married... with Children, Out of the Blue and Acapulco H.E.A.T.. She also had a role in the movie U.S. Marshals. Her best known role was in Stargate SG-1, where she guest starred in several episodes as Daniel Jackson's (Michael Shanks) wife, Sha'uri/Sha're, and Amonet.

She originally auditioned for the role of Sha'uri in Stargate, the 1994 film, but ultimately lost to Mili Avital. Later on, she auditioned for the same role in Stargate SG-1 and got it.

Private Life

She is of mixed descent, being American, German, and Tahitian. Her mother is related to the Royal House of Makea Karika in the Cook Islands.

She was Julio Iglesias' girlfriend and was once married to Peter Bandera. Later on, she had a child with Michael Shanks, who she guest starred alongside in Stargate SG-1, in 1998.

She is a very private person and tends to keep to herself and currently resides in Los Angeles, California with her new husband (Edgars Asars), daughter and son. It is unknown if she will come back to act and now runs three fashion companies KenTa designs, Royal Hip and RoyalMocc.
