A measure of worth or efficiency; a quantitative measurement of the activity, concentration, etc., of specific substances.

  • absolute v. — the size of an observation or measurement regardless of its sign.
  • expected v. — an estimate of the value of a population parameter, which would be achieved by sampling an infinite number of times.
  • normal v's — the range in concentration of specific substances found in normal healthy tissues, secretions, etc.
