(b Copenhagen, 17 May 1851; d there, 5 Jan 1926). Danish composer and conductor. He established and conducted the Copenhagen Philharmonic Concerts (1897) and composed important piano works and symphonies, especially no.2, Sommerklange fra Sydrusland op.20 (1888), in graceful Slavonic folk style.
