Review

"I reject, I refuse, when I come back I always lose" are the frustrated words which all three members of Vida cry out on this release. Excluding drummer and ex-Ida member Daved Pankenier, Vida represents a soundtrack for the yearning woman who's sick of getting dumped on by a man. Not so extreme to the point of coming across as man haters, Vida just want to be heard as they let out their exasperations. With both "Remember Me" and "Race Car" belting out the uneven harmonies that sometimes overlap each other, Vida's accompanying structure of both complex and loose riffs completely cements their angst. Sleater-Kinney, X, and Sonic Youth are each clearly an influential presence on this single. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
