Depeche Mode's The Videos '86-'98 gathers 21 of the group's clips, along with an interview with the band and their friend/collaborator, director Anton Corbijn, as well as the featurette "Depeche Mode: A Short Film." Virtually every video Depeche Mode has made is here, including "Strangelove," "Personal Jesus," "A Question of Lust," and "Only When I Lose Myself." The disc's main fault is its PCM 48 KHz 16-bit stereo audio track, which can sound somewhat muddy. Overall though, The Videos is a good document of Depeche Mode's evolving musical and visual style, and is worthwhile for most fans. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
