Photographic agency launched in 2001 by an international group of photographers: Gary Knight (London), Alexandra Boulat (Paris), Ron Haviv (Moscow), John Stanmeyer (Hong Kong), and Antonin Kratochvil, Christopher Morris, and James Nachtwey (New York). It is loosely cooperative, with members free to manage relations with their primary clients and retaining their own copyright, while using the agency to negotiate subsidiary assignments and market their archive pictures online. VII was a response to difficult market conditions at the turn of the century and the unwieldiness of the larger agencies.
