Personal Background
Vijayakumar was born in Nattuchalai in India. He has six children, two daughters and a son (Arun Vijay) from his wife, Muthulakshmi, and three daughters with his second wife, the actress Manjula. Arun Vijay, his only son, is an actor, whilst his daughters, Vanitha, Pritha Vijayakumar and Sridevi Vijaykumar have all appeared in a couple of films each, without tasting particular success. He is a member of the AIADMK.[1][2]
Film career
He has played a variety of films and is a 'cult' favourite. At his peak, it was thought a perfect film needed Vijayakumar in the supporting cast. He has acted as a friend, villain, brother and father of his contemporary star Rajinikanth at various points in time of his film career.
