Village Christian School (abbreviated VCS) is a private, Evangelical K-12 school located in the La Tuna Canyon area of Los Angeles, California, United States. The school was founded in 1949 by members of Village Church in nearby Burbank.

Mission statement

The mission statement reads: "It is the mission of Village Christian Schools to provide a distinctly Christian Education by:

  1. Encouraging students and parents to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Teaching discipleship through example and practical application.
  3. Encouraging students to develop to the fullest the Spiritual, intellectual, aesthetic, physical and social gifts given to them.
  4. Offering students every opportunity to excel in academic studies, athletic competition, and social growth.
  5. Keeping before them their need for spiritual maturity in proportion with their age and experience in faith, so that every student can become a productive member of society."

Academics

VCS offers 14 AP classes, and five honors classes. One requirement for graduation is four years of Bible Study (if attending for four years).[2][3]

Student body

Village Christian students come from several cities, including Los Angeles (including the Sun Valley neighborhood), Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Santa Clarita, and Simi Valley.[4]

School uniforms
