Review

This third volume in the story shines the spotlight on the roots of two of jazz's brightest stars and how they eventually became individual icons in their own right. Collecting up old 78s, this features Tommy and Jimmy in the Travelers, their own band, and solo sides from both of them. Counted up in the various lineups are appearances by Glenn Miller, Mannie Klein, Bud Freeman, Eddie Lang, Bunny Berigan, Artie Bernstein, and Stan King. A missing chunk of early jazz history come to light and well done, with great notes and much session information. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide
