Review

A wildly eclectic assortment of songs are found on this EP. "Wake Up Boo!" is the album version from the Wake Up! LP. "Janus" may very well be the slowest song the band has ever written. With the eerie organ, steady snare drum and exhausted vocals, it seems fit for a death scene in outer space somewhere. For some reason, "Blues for George Michael" doesn't seem like one song, but three or four. There are parts where Sice seems to be spitting out words just trying to keep up with the music, and a few tangents where an entirely different song tries to form. For those who prefer the standard fare, "Friendship Song" will fill the bill. The lyrics and music are pretty simplistic, but that's not always bad. Actually, the music holds its own fairly well, but unfortunately, when you come to expect nothing but brilliant, poetic lyrics, the bad stuff seems really bad. ~ Joe Schanderson, All Music Guide
