‘Waldgespräch’, a poem by J. von Eichendorff, the first line of which runs ‘Es ist schon spät, es wird schon kalt’. It is a version of the Lorelei legend and occurs as an untitled duet in the novel Ahnung und Gegenwart. It has been set to music by Robert Schumann.
